2018 KTM FREERIDE 250F REVEAL
KTM has just spilled the beans and released its all new, 2018 Freeride 250F. Some would consider this a beginner motorcycle but here at Enduro America we believe that this bike has much more potential. The new Freeride features improvements over its predecessor and gets a brand new, 250cc, DOHC, four-stroke engine. The motor is based on the KTM's full competition Enduro 250 and develops 20.5PS and 18Nm. KTM will also offer an unrestricted version of the motor that develops about 25.6HP and 16.5 ft-lb of torque. The chassis is a composite of high-quality chrome-molybdenum steel sections that have been bolted onto forged aluminium components. For 2018 the steering head is also longer which, according to KTM engineers, gives the new Freeride 250F increased rigidity and better stability. The new KTM Freeride 250F gets revised styling with new graphics as well as compact and minimalist bodywork. The seat height, at just over 35 inches, is also low by off-road bike standards, making it a lot more suited to vertically challenged riders out there.
The front mudguard is also new as is the headlamp cowl. KTM has focused on keeping the weight as low as possible and the new Freeride 250F tips the scales at only 217 pounds. We think this is pretty incredible for a four stroke motorcycle.
The bike gets a large 21-inch wheel upfront to help get you through the toughest terrain.
The 250cc four stroke power plant offers smooth, linear power delivery and the reworked chassis as well as the new WP suspension has made it a very capable machine.
We can't wait to get our hands on this 2018 Freeride for a proper real world test! Make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for video updates here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaPWmAzneHke0D-DHv9Knwg
